At this year’s Endeavor Gala in New York, Linda Rottenberg stood before an audience of founders and partners from more than 50 countries and posed a challenge.
For years, headlines had claimed that the future was being built in only two places: Silicon Valley and China. Our CEO and co-founder disagreed. “Maybe we need a new plan,” she said. “Maybe we need a map with more than two points.”
She began naming companies in Kyiv, Nigeria, São Paulo, and Jakarta that are solving systemic problems at scale — redefining access to finance, healthcare, and opportunity — yet whose stories rarely make global headlines. They remain invisible to the mainstream conversation about innovation.
“Why is no one telling these stories?” Linda asked. “Starting tonight, we are.”
Then, behind her, the screen lit up with the image of a physical copy of our new publication: Elsewhere.
Inspired by nearly 30 years of supporting high-growth founders around the world, Elsewhere shines a light on the people and places shaping global entrepreneurship beyond Silicon Valley and China. Across 2024 and 2025, we digitally published more than 120 stories; the best of this became part of the physical collection launched at our Gala.
“Talent lives everywhere and innovation thrives anywhere,” said Silvia Cavalcanti, Endeavor’s Chief Marketing Officer. “The Elsewhere Magazine is our way of proving it, story by story.”
As Lais Grilletti, Editor in Chief, reflected, “We are living through a major narrative shift. The founders and stories that stayed invisible for so long are now taking center stage. This shift begins in the narrative dimension, and having a physical collection of their stories is a step toward rebalancing how the world understands entrepreneurship.”
Elsewhere markets are the ones overlooked by venture capital: places abundant in entrepreneurial talent but short on role models, capital, mentorship, and trust. These markets represent nearly half of the world’s GDP yet receive only 8% of global venture funding. They are where innovation flourishes against the odds.
“Hundreds of stories. Thousands of conversations. Months of radical experimentation and infinite belief,” as Silvia puts it. “Our first Elsewhere Annual Magazine is a celebration of the founders, markets, and moments reshaping the future of global entrepreneurship.”
You can grab your physical copy at one of our global events in 2026, or if you’re passing by our office in New York. You can also view the magazine below.
