This May, Endeavor UAE returned with Scale-Up UAE, an annual event held in Dubai connecting entrepreneurs with mentors, partners, and investors to focus on scaling up entrepreneurial ventures in the region.

In the startup world, one of the most challenging stages can be scaling up, or, transforming a mom-and-pop shop into a high-impact venture. Endeavor UAE began Scale-Up UAE to address this difficulty in the Middle East and neighboring regions. Entrepreneurs from the UAE, the Middle East, and beyond had the opportunity to meet with mentors and investors to share stories and ideas of how best to scale up their ventures and to receive advice from industry veterans and experts.

“There has never been a more critical time for Scale-Up UAE to be taking place given the UAE’s government agenda to foster and accelerate entrepreneurship and innovation,” Endeavor UAE Managing Director Noor Shawwa said. “The forum provides access to an invaluable network of industry leaders offering their expertise to the next generation of entrepreneurs around the world.”

At the event, attendees had the opportunity to view panel discussions and inspirational talks on the main stage, focusing on innovation, how to manage legal issues as a growing company, and digital marketing. Entrepreneurs also had access to one-one-on scale-up clinics, where individuals could reserve time with functional experts from The Online Project, Clyde & Co, Grant Thornton, Zen HR, Support Legal, and Mohammad Bin Rashed Innovation Fund to address issues specific to their businesses.

Running concurrently, the first MENAT Entrepreneurs Forum also brought together current Endeavor Entrepreneurs from MENA and Turkey for a series of closed-door, roundtable discussions and workshops, aiming to foster strong regional networks, address relevant challenges and help entrepreneurs benefit from the collective experience of their regional counterparts.

Endeavor Entrepreneur and Mumzworld Founder Mona Ataya shared her expertise as a mentor to earlier stage entrepreneurs during the event.

Early-stage entrepreneurs in attendance had the chance to participate in the qualifying round for SANAD, Endeavor UAE’s a 12-month, one-to-one mentorship program for early-stage promising entrepreneurs. The highly curated program offers access to valuable advice from Endeavor Entrepreneurs and high level-mentors, while preparing those not yet eligible for Endeavor’s selection process.
