Endeavor Egypt is partnering with one of the country’s top television channels, CBC, in the first-ever, prime-time televised entrepreneurship competition in Egypt. Similar to Shark Tank, the show, Honna el Shabab, features entrepreneur contestants from across Egypt, and gives them an opportunity to pitch their idea to a panel made up of high-profile individuals in the local ecosystem, including Endeavor Egypt’s former Chairman Khaled Ismail.
The competition is sponsored by Egyptian Gulf Bank (EGBank).
Endeavor Egypt’s role in the competition is multi-faceted, initially supporting CBC in reviewing and screening applications. Short-listed contestants then got the opportunity to attend “How to Pitch” sessions hosted by Endeavor Egypt and led by Endeavor Entrepreneurs Yaseen Abdel Ghafaar of SolarizEgypt, Amir Barsoum of Vezeeta.com and Ahmed Ragab of Baraka Retail Group. The Competition finalists are expected to receive mentorship and strategic guidance for their promising ventures from Endeavor Egypt.
Endeavor Egypt Chairman, Ayman Ismail, has made multiple guest appearances throughout the show, lending his expertise and guidance to the judging panel, including this episode when joined as a guest judge, casting the determining final vote. You can view the video of the episode, as well as an interview with Ayman Ismail, here.
