On May 4, 2017, Endeavor Catalyst held its annual investor meeting in Half Moon Bay, California, following the Endeavor Retreat. The meeting convened 100+ members of the Endeavor Catalyst community, including many of the major investors and donors behind the $100MM+ Endeavor Catalyst funds, as well as entrepreneurs from twelve portfolio companies.
An informative and inspiring event, the meeting represented a significant milestone for Endeavor Catalyst, which was established in 2012 to support Endeavor Entrepreneurs with their financing rounds and to sustain Endeavor’s long-term operations in a mission-aligned way.
During the invite-only meeting, Endeavor Catalyst Managing Directors Jackie Carmel and Allen Taylor gave updates on the Fund’s performance to-date, highlighting its 50 investments (as of Q1 2017). Details on the investments may be found in the recently released 2016-2017 Endeavor Catalyst Annual Report.
The day kicked off with a memorable fireside chat with Endeavor Co-Founder and CEO Linda Rottenberg and Endeavor Board Member Reid Hoffman (watch below). Speakers and portfolio updates were interspersed throughout the day with panels highlighting sector and geographic trends within the portfolio. Adolfo Babatz (Co-Founder and CEO, Clip) spoke about the recent rise in fintech investments, and Veronica Serra moderated a panel with Daniel Wjuniski (Co-Founder and Former CEO, Minha Vida) and Eric Santos (Co-Founder and CEO, Resultados Digitais) on the Brazilian ecosystem. Bill Sahlman (Professor HBS) also moderated a panel on exits in emerging markets with Nix Nolledo (President and Chairman, Xurpas) and Romero Rodrigues (Co-Founder, Buscape and Partner, Redpoint eventures).
To conclude the day, the Endeavor team previewed the Fund’s active investment pipeline and gave an update on Endeavor Catalyst II.
