Smartick and Cabify Team Up to Offer Math Scholarships to Girls

Edtech scale-up Smartick and leading Spanish ride-sharing company Cabify partnered this March to offer scholarships to encourage more girls to pursue careers in technology. The companies, both led by Endeavor Spain Entrepreneurs, launched “Becas Cabify” (Cabify Scholarships) to support girls in math and the sciences.

Together the companies will award 1,500 scholarships to girls across 10 of the countries that Cabify operates in — Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Panama, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.

Co-founded by Daniel González de Vega and Javier Arroyo, Smartick is an online math learning platform for children. The company has achieved high success rates: eight out of 10 users improve their grades in math, and 94% improve their calculation, logic, and problem solving skills. In just six years since Smartick’s founding, 32,000 children from 100 countries have benefited from the method. Selected into the Endeavor network in 2015, Daniel and Javier and Cabify Founder Juan de Antonio connected through their work with Endeavor Spain.
