Endeavor hosted a curated Education industry tour for entrepreneurs this February in San Francisco. Hailing from 7 countries, 13 Endeavor Entrepreneurs gathered for specialized sessions with CEOs, founders and leaders of the top education technology companies in Silicon Valley.
Highlights from the tour included:
- A round-table discussion with Masterclass Co-founder and CEO, David Rogier who talked to the group about giving online learners access to the masters of every field/industry to learn new skills
- Former Udemy CEO, Dennis Yang hosting an ask-me-anything which featured insights on growing an online learning marketplace to a global audience
- Udacity’s first business hire and current COO, Clarissa Shen shedding light on the inner workings and operations of a global edtech company
- Coursera’s Regional Lead of Global Partnerships, Angela Romero discussing how Coursera expands its model internationally through partnerships
Entrepreneurs also got the chance to meet and speak with Victor Hu, the Managing Partner at Exceed Capital. Responsible for starting Goldman Sach’s edtech investment banking practice and taking many of the sector’s most successful companies public, Victor shared his insights on successful companies in the space, where education is going, and sector trends in investment.
Endeavor’s Education tour is a part of the organization’s ongoing initiative to offer entrepreneurs industry-specific and enriching programming that leverages Endeavor’s global network. In 2017, Endeavor hosted similar events in New York City for Endeavor Entrepreneurs working in fintech, food and beverage, and data, marketing and media industries, and has similar events planned for the coming year.
