After teaching himself HTML and building a website from scratch, Ricardo founded Portal Educação, an e-learning portal that offers courses in over 20 different subject areas, as well as post-graduate courses and corporate solutions. With over 50,000 customers, Portal Educação is the market leader in Brazil. With the number of Brazilian universities offering courses online growing at close to 300%, Portal Educação is well-positioned to sustain its growth rate and cement its brand name.
After ten years in operation, Portal Educação was named one of the 50 best companies to work for by the organization Great Places to Work for both their Latin America category and their Multinational companies in Latin America category in April 2011.
