Jorge’s passion is the sea. Born on an island near the port city of Puerto Montt, Jorge‘s entire professional life has been intertwined with maritime industries: after starting a career as a full-time fisherman at age 14, Jorge went on to found Oxxean. He has since built the company into the region‘s leader in maritime logistics and services. With Chile on track to overtake Norway as the world leader in salmon exports, Oxxean offers specialized maritime services to the growing salmon cluster located 900 km south of Santiago — an economically deprived region that is home to the fastest-growing aquaculture industry in the world. Recently he has opened a new port in Chacabuco, and has started other entrepreneurial ventures.

Endeavor and OXXEAN

Jorge has seized numerous opportunities through the network, including collaborating with a board member on a new project.

He demonstrates commitment by participating in Endeavor Patagonia’s local candidate Search & Selection process, and serving as an ambassador for the office.
