EY Vantage Advisors spend six weeks on the ground with Endeavor Entrepreneurs, leveraging their professional knowledge as high-performing employees at EY to work on business development and consulting projects. The Advisors help the entrepreneurs’ companies to evaluate technology solutions, improve financial reporting, initiate organizational improvement initiatives, and much more. This placement took place from April to May 2017.

Algo Consulting Group is transforming the way citizens connect with government services. Tarik Fadli, selected by Endeavor in 2014, founded Algo to help non-profits, universities, and companies optimize their administrative processes. But in 2014, when then-U.S. President Barack Obama pledged to make all government operations paperless in ten years, Tarik saw an opportunity to catalyze the same change in Morocco. His firm attained special partnerships with governments in Africa for its groundbreaking e-Kiosk machines, which help verify citizen identities and notarize important documents.

Algo needed the EY Vantage Program’s help to create a strong operational foundation for his company. That’s where Patrick Schumann, a Manager at EY’s Berlin office, came into the picture. Patrick was responsible for implementing best practices for sales, brand management, and client relations, but he also left behind insightful tools for Algo to assess and plan its growth. These were important strides for Tarik to ensure that his company was well-positioned for expansion.

As Tarik said, creating a stable business infrastructure was an important step in his company’s maturity. Algo arrived at Endeavor with a promising future, but, as a professional services firm, it was ever more important to standardize its internal practices and instill confidence in its clients. Patrick helped the company chart its path to scale, and gave it the resources to make that happen.

Patrick reflected, “The EY Vantage program was the best thing that could happen to me! I got to know so many different people, tools, initiatives and programs within EY and outside the organization which will make a real difference for my future career and life.” For Patrick, EY Vantage was as much an exercise in professional development as it was in service.

For Tarik, it was a catalyst for his company’s growth. He noted, “Patrick helped us on our way from a start-up to a serious and well-structured company. I really thank him and appreciate his project with us.”

Endeavor’s relationship with EY helps sow the seeds for development, from scale-ups in growth markets to professionals at established firms. By building these networks and ecosystems around the world, Endeavor continues to lead the movement for high-impact entrepreneurship.
