David is an iconic leader who has reimagined banking in Latin America as chairman and CEO of Nubank, which has become a fintech powerhouse globally. He continues to pay it forward as an inspiring role model, mentor, and investor to the next generation of founders across the world. David has reimagined banking in Latin America as the founder, chairman, and CEO of Nubank. He began his career working in investment banking and growth equity. In 2013, the Colombian entrepreneur founded Nubank, offering all-digital banking services that were fee-free and customer-centric—starting with credit cards. The response was huge, and in the decade since, Nubank has grown into a $25 billion company serving 35 million people.
David didn’t just reimagine the rules of banking; he built a new board to play on. He continues to pay it forward as an inspiring role model, mentor, and investor to the next generation of founders across the world. We are proud to name him our Business Leader of the Year.
