Bringing together local angel investors and tech entrepreneurs, Endeavor Peru launched the Peruvian Investor Network (PIN) this October in Lima. Following in the footsteps of several other Endeavor offices in the region that have organized similar networks, Endeavor Peru aims to promote the development of a venture capital industry in Peru through education and investor development.
After two years of close work with entrepreneurs in different industries, Endeavor Peru launched the initiative to educate and connect angel investors, entrepreneurs, and investment firms. PIN’s objective is to build an interactive network between local investors, business-savvy mentors, and other major players in the Peruvian business world, aiming to improve communication and access to finance opportunities.
“Endeavor has long-held the view that when markets turn down, innovation turns up,” said Beth Robertson, Manager of the Investor Network Program. Citing Brazil as an example of the potential for successful investor networks in emerging economies, she noted, “Despite the country’s economic troubles, the entrepreneurship ecosystem is thriving, and there is tremendous opportunity for investors who are willing to look past the headlines.”

Endeavor Peru believes the addition of big investors in their network will unlock access to this type of capital in the region and will facilitate mentorship between experienced investors and entrepreneurs seeking to raise capital.
“Peru has become a catalyst for economic change in Latin America,” said Ana Sofia Valdivia, Director of Endeavor Peru. “We believe this type of initiative represents an important factor in continuing to break boundaries and promote new industries in the country.”
Endeavor Peru celebrated the launch of PIN at an event held at UTEC Ventures in Lima, Peru, featuring three speakers from Silicon Valley — Alan Chiu from XSeed Capital, Bedy Yang from 500 Startups, and Allen Taylor from Endeavor Catalyst. Eight entrepreneurs also presented their companies to attendees.
