Entrepreneurs Ramzi Halaby and Zafer Younis are revolutionizing the way businesses in the MENA region talk to their customers. With their creative approach to social media advertising, these first movers are helping multinationals optimize their social network presence in the Middle East. Ramzi and Zafer founded Modern Media when they started Jordan’s first independent English-language radio broadcast in 2004. Their experience in brand promotion led to the development of a new business line called “The Online Project”, the only service in the region to offer comprehensive social media management in Arabic. Their combination of marketing strategy, process analysis, and content creation has improved their clients’ advertising and marketing ROI dramatically.
Ramzi and Zafer both studied music at Jordan’s National Music Conservatory. Ramzi founded Spotalent, the first successful Jordanian music and talent-management company, and Zafer attended the London School of Economics.
The pair founded Modern Media and launched Play 99.6 FM in 2004. Over the next years, they developed programming in the newly privatized Jordanian radio market, and launch popular concerts and events. The entrepreneurs had huge success promoting their station without a budget, by using social networks. In 2009, they realized they could profit from these skills and began to consult with companies on how to utilize social media tools. The idea came at a critical moment for businesses in the region.
Clients who hire The Online Project increase their ROI, improve their management of customer service issues and gain access to an engaged online community.
