Emre is truly on the “cutting” edge of his market, bringing innovation to one of the world’s oldest professions: butchery. He founded the Dukkan Butchershop in 1998. As the first butcher to bring milk-fed veal, dry aged beef and fresh sausages to the Turkish marketplace, he immediately started distribution to many elite restaurants and hotels in Istanbul.
In 2004, he and his brother, Bulent, decided to go retail with Dukkan Steakhouse in Armutlu — formerly a shantytown, now changed immensely thanks to the steakhouse. In 2009, following the successful launch of a steakhouse, Emre opened another restaurant, Dükkan Burger. Since selection by Endeavor, company revenues have grown by 391%.
Endeavor Turkey has assisted Emre in the area of financing, and developed an advisory board to counsel on developing options for growth. Emre has also received support from PriceWaterhouseCoopers on creating a business plan, and benefited from the eMBA program, an Immersion Tour, and an Entrepreneur Summit.
Emre is a frequent speaker on behalf of Endeavor Turkey.
