The Endeavor Investor Network hosted an Investor Trek to Brazil from July 12-14th. The goal of the three day trip to Sao Paulo and Florianopolis was to highlight investment opportunities in Brazil and curate connections that international investors need to navigate and invest in the country.
Participating international investment funds included Amadeus Capital, Lumia Capital, Mountain Partners, Qualcomm Ventures, Riverwood Capital, Seagrass Capital, Telefonica Ventures, and Valor Capital. Programming featured intimate discussions and interactive networking with local investors, entrepreneurs, business leaders, policy makers, service providers and others who have firsthand experience successfully doing business in Brazil.

The first day of the event in Sao Paulo featured experts on the Brazilian investment ecosystem, including Eric Acher (Monashees), Edson Rigonatti (Astella), Manoel Lemos (Redpoint eVentures) and Ricardo Mendes (Prospectiva). This was followed by an afternoon of one-on-one speed-networking between international investors and local Brazilian investors.

Highlights from the second day include panel discussions with successful entrepreneurs from the ed-tech, fin-tech and healthcare sectors including Claudio Sassaki of Geekie, Thomaz Srougi & Guilherme Azevedo of Dr. Consulta, and Benjamin Gleason of GuiaBolso. The day ended with a visit to the distribution facility of Netshoes, the largest Brazilian e-commerce company.
On the final day of the trek, the group travelled to Florianopolis to learn more about one of Brazil’s emerging hubs for tech entrepreneurship. The delegation visited Resultados Digitais, a leading digital marketing platform, and had the opportunity to meet with key players in Florianopolis’ entrepreneurship ecosystem during a closing cocktail.

“Endeavor has long-held the view that when markets turn down, innovation turns up” shared Beth Robertson, Manager of the Investor Network Program. “Brazil is a perfect case in point. Despite the country’s economic troubles, the entrepreneurship ecosystem is thriving and there is tremendous opportunity for investors who are willing to look past the headlines.”
