Gregory Ericksen
Ernst & Young LLP, Former Global Vice Chair, Strategic Growth Markets
Gregory K. Ericksen, now retired, was instrumental in developing Ernst & Young’s focus on fast-growth public and private companies as Global Vice Chair, Strategic Growth Markets. Under Greg’s leadership, the Strategic Growth Markets part of Ernst & Young’s business grew into a global effort dedicated to serving future market-leading companies around the world.
Greg also served as Global Director of Entrepreneur Of The Year, a program that recognizes and celebrates leading entrepreneurs in more than 50 countries. A key overseer of the program since its inception in the US in 1986, Greg spearheaded its international implementation and established the World Entrepreneur Of The Year award in 2001 which is now produced and celebrated annually in Monte Carlo.
During his career at EY, Greg’s roles have included US National Director of Entrepreneurial Services, US Midwest Regional Director of Entrepreneurial Services and Managing Partner of the US firm’s Indianapolis office. He championed the development of a global IPO network and IPO Retreat events for companies considering going public, helping Ernst & Young to become a market leader in the IPO space worldwide.
Greg has written four books on entrepreneurship, including What’s Luck Got to Do With It, Insights from the Winners’ Circle, Net Entrepreneurs Only and Women Entrepreneurs Only. He also co-authored The Ernst & Young Guide to Taking Your Company Public.
He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council, which meets in Dubai, and an Advisor for the World Economic Forum’s “New Champions” Global Growth Companies Initiative, held in China. Greg also leads Ernst & Young’s partnership with the World Economic Forum, which recognizes and honors Social Entrepreneurs from around the world and invites them to Davos.
A graduate of Notre Dame University in the US, Greg received the Notre Dame Scholar Award and has been a member of the Notre Dame Alumni Board of Directors. Greg is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, certified in Texas and Indiana.
