Oscar knows quality when he sees it. A former Formula 2 racecar mechanic, he is the founder of MexQ, short for Mexican Quality. By deploying quality assurance teams to work directly in automotive manufacturing plants, MexQ reduces the likelihood and duration of production line failures. In a mammoth industry — where one minute of lost productivity can cost thousands of dollars — MexQ has already carved out a multi-million dollar niche. The company’s client list features virtually every car manufacturer in Mexico, including giants like General Motors, Nissan and Volkswagen. Now Oscar is taking MexQ to other high-volume manufacturing sectors including ceramics, home appliances, and aeronautics. Situated outside of Mexico City in Aguascalientes, MexQ has the potential to create thousands of jobs in regions where they are needed most.
