Endeavor Entrepreneur Leonardo Shapiro, presented Airbanq, a new digital banking company, at Bay Area-based accelerator NFX Guild’s “demo day” on September 7. Thirteen other companies also had the opportunity to present at the event, which was well-attended by nearly 200 top venture and angel investors. Co-Founder and CEO of Airbanq, Shapiro was originally selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur in 2005 through Endeavor Mexico with the company Ventakit.
Airbanq, which Shapiro co-founded two years ago, has developed a check-cashing application that gives traditionally underserved customers access, for the first time, to quality, fairly priced, mobile financial services. As part of the service, mobile users can securely upload checks to the Airbanq app and meet with Airbanq agents quickly to exchange that check for cash.
Airbanq has launched its first two locations in Antioch, California, near its home base San Francisco. So far, the company has raised $3.35 million in capital. To find out more about Airbanq, click here.
