Miguel Angel transformed a small family business — a small bakery in Rosario, Argentina — with no competitive advantages and limited growth potential into a wholesale provider of baked goods. It supplies frozen bakery products to bars, cafes and restaurants. Ultracongelados’s understanding of the market in the interior of Argentina, as well as its experience dealing with regional clients has been a key differentiator between the company and its larger multinational competitors.
After sending products to the US for the first time in 2002, Miguel oversaw the opening of Ultracongelados’ first international branch in Miami in 2003. Ultracongelados was named the SME of the year in Argentina in 2008, the same year the company expanded into the Spanish market.
In addition to the global G-Lab program, Miguel has benefited from local mentorship and the GEMAS program.
