Siblings Adel and Laila Sedky discovered a penetrable gap in the Egyptian dessert market and introduced the first local cupcake store, NOLA. Despite growing up in the same family, the siblings could not be more different. Adel skillfully manages operations and logistics. Laila, on the other hand, drives brand and product development. Interested in business, both Adel and Laila attended the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University, receiving degrees in Marketing and Finance respectively.

The pair opened NOLA Cupcakes after graduation in 2010. NOLA offers customers trendy affordable luxuries through its variety of freshly-baked delicious desserts. Unlike other bakeries and consumer brands in Egypt, NOLA focuses on the customer experience, providing a sophisticated yet cheerful setting with top customer service.
